Privacy Policy

What artlequin.ca collects, why, where and for how long, and what you can do about it. This policy meets the requirements of Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Who is responsible

The person in charge of the protection of personal information at artlequin is Frédéric Vicaire, creative director and founder. For any question or request, write to bonjour@artlequin.ca.

What you send us

• Contact form: your name, company, email, goal, the plan you are interested in and your message. The short form also adds the address of the page you are writing from.
• Perspectives newsletter: your email. Your subscription only becomes active after you click the confirmation link sent by email.
• Booking a call: the booking module on the Contact page is provided by Calendly. What you enter there (name, email, answers) is collected by Calendly on our behalf, under its own privacy policy.

What the site measures

The site counts its visits with an in-house, cookie-free measurement tool. It records the page viewed, the site you came from (a Google search or LinkedIn, for example), the type of device, the links and buttons clicked, where on the page you click, how far down the page you scroll, and whether a form was sent, a newsletter subscription made or a call booked (without anything you type). Your IP address is not stored: combined with the date, it is only used to compute a fingerprint that lasts one day. This fingerprint links the pages viewed and clicks made on the same day, for example to know which site a contact request started from. It cannot recognize you from one day to the next. This data is hosted by Cloudflare and deleted after thirteen months. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, this tool ignores your visit.

The site also uses Google Analytics, which places cookies in your browser and sends browsing data to Google, including your IP address. Google keeps this data according to our account setting, fourteen months at most. You can refuse these cookies in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Third-party services

• Calendly (United States): call booking, on the Contact page and in some articles.
• Brevo (France, data hosted in the European Union): delivery of contact form messages and newsletter management.
• Google Analytics (United States): visit statistics, described above.
• Cloudflare: hosting of the in-house measurement tool.
• YouTube: video thumbnails come from YouTube’s servers, and the video itself only loads if you click to play it.

Some of these services store data outside Quebec. We chose them because they offer protection we consider adequate, and they only receive what the service requires.

Cookies

Sending the contact form creates a session cookie, deleted when you close your browser, which prevents repeated submissions. Google Analytics places its own cookies, described above. The in-house measurement tool uses none.

Why

This information is used to answer you, to prepare a call or a project, to send you the newsletter if you asked for it, and to understand how the site is used in order to improve it. It is never sold or used for advertising.

How long

• Contact form messages: twelve months at most, then deleted.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time with the link included in every issue.
• In-house measurement: thirteen months. Google Analytics: fourteen months at most.

Your rights

We keep no file on the site’s visitors. The only information about you is what you sent us yourself: a message through the contact form, your newsletter subscription or a call booked in Calendly. You can ask to access it, to correct it or to have it deleted, and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Write to bonjour@artlequin.ca from the address you used: we answer within 30 days. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
